US Foreign Policy, the distinct phase of the Unipolar moment

A distinct period of the United States of America Foreign Policy, is the period between 1991 and 2001, a period of ten years also known as “The Unipolar Moment”. If someone tries to describe it with one word that would be, “Dominance”. In that period, two US Presidents served in office George Herbert Walker Bush (January 20, 1989 – January 20, 1993) and William Jefferson Clinton (January 20, 1993 – January 20, 2001). One can add also a small period of President George Walker Bush from January 20, 2001 till September 11, 2001 when the terrorist attacks on US soil took place.


Main threats, challenges and trends for the U.S. national security system in the 21st century.

According to the U.S. Global Trends 2040 report, global challenges include climate change, disease, financial crises, and technology disruptions that will affect almost every region and country. In this context the difficulty of addressing these transnational challenges is compounded in part by increasing fragmentation within communities, states, and the international system. The scale of transnational challenges, and the emerging implications of fragmentation, are exceeding the capacity of existing systems and structures, highlighting the third theme: disequilibrium.


Book review, The Hybrid Age, International Security in the Era of Hybrid Warfare by Brin Najžer

Brin Najžer in his book, The Hybrid Age – International Security in the Era of Hybrid Warfare, offers his view in an effort to explain a new phenomenon that appeared during the last years in the vocabulary of politicians, military and academics. As he points out, hybrid warfare has not an international accepted definition of what it is and many times it has been used in a wrong way. In the above framework, he tries to give a strategic overview and to clarify the phenomenon of hybrid warfare in a concise and strategic manner.


Russian, perspective for a new world order

According the Minister of Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Lavrov, genuine multilateralism and diplomacy is against the international rules-based order. The United Nations Organization is the embodiment of true multilateralism, with a central coordinating role in global politics and the only legal framework, after WWII for the international order, is the UN Charter.
